Splish, splash, I was takin’ a bath!

Well now.  So, we got up this morning and started packing up – later than planned because I am completely exhausted.  What has not been evident in the blog is that I have been staying up late every night to catch up the blog, plan where we are going, how to get there, booking RV sites and doing actual work work.  As I was doing dishes this morning, John jumped in the shower and I planned to take one right after.  A couple of minutes in, John starts hollering because our grey tank is apparently full and is starting to back up into the shower!

RV Prison has water and power and a dump station and perhaps I should take this opportunity to shoulder some of the blame here.  We have been having issues with the reliability of the monitor panel for our tanks.  Fresh water and black tank, we can visually verify.  The grey tank doesn’t really give an indication other than what the monitor says and I *might* have been accusing John of being paranoid about the levels in the grey tank, maybe.

Anyway, the smell was something unforgettably special and from the front of the RV, Levi starts gagging.  Actually, physically, gagging.  John jumped out and threw on clothes and rushed outside.  It overflowed one time into the compartment that houses all of his tools and we certainly didn’t want that to happen again.  We disconnected everything and pulled the slides in and pulled over to the dump station as quickly as possible.  I’m sitting there thinking, “Now what?”  I really wanted a shower after all of the humidity and walking through PHL and taking the subway *shudders*.  Luckily, there was a solution…

I can now say that I have taken a shower in a public bathroom in a trailer at a park n ride (aka RV Prison).  I’ll spare you the details and there will not be pictures.  It could have been worse.

I also feel like I should say that while we have had some good laughs about RV Prison 1) because it is funny and 2) even my sister-in-law who lives here said her eyes got big when she heard what neighborhood we were staying in, but it wasn’t actually that bad.  It is terrifying outside of the Concertina wire, but inside, the people were very nice and it was completely safe, the prices were good and it had great access to transportation.  As far as the bathrooms are concerned, I generally don’t care about those reviews since we have our own, but as I said to John, “That attraction won’t be getting very high marks on my Yelp review!”
