Once we got set up at the RV park, I fixed us a nice breakfast and then planned to take a shower. John laid down to take a nap and Trista wanted to shower first, so I sat on the couch to wait and woke up a couple of hours later!
We coordinated with John’s uncle George and his wife Nancy and planned to meet at the Cracker Barrel for lunch. It was so great to see both of them. George, and John’s dad were both pastors and since John’s dad passed away when John was young, George was the one that flew out to California to perform our wedding ceremony 15 years ago. He tells the best stories! We enjoyed good food, good service and great company and they allowed us to sit and visit for a long time. George and Nancy are the only other members of John’s family with the last name Carkeet, without getting into distant cousins and we were all together in one place!

Midafternoon we were tired and needed to get some more homework done and I had promised the kids we would go swimming.
We went back to the RV and told Trista we would work for an hour and then swim. Well, we worked for about 45 minutes and the clouds rolled in and the lightening started and we realized that swimming was not going to happen.
Before we knew it there was a Severe Thunderstorm Warning and the weather really started to get wild. I started to get things ready for dinner, but the storm was really rolling, so we turned out all of the lights in the RV, opened the blinds and sat on the couch and watched the storm for a long time. There was water pooling under RVs, the trees looked like they were going to blow out of their roots. The flashes of lightening were intense and the thunder rolled. After a while, we knew we needed to eat, so we fixed some dinner, ate and headed off to bed. It rained all night!
