Today wasn’t super exciting, but I want to include it anyway…

Mom and the kids and I took a drive to seek out some Huckleberry goodies and some local stuff. We drove south of Polson to a place we have visited before. We did a little shopping.

Recreated an old family photo (sort of) from the trip we made to scatter Papa’s ashes in 2000.
2000 2019
We stopped for lunch on our way back and someone managed to take out the entire McDonald’s drive-thru sign and knocked it into another vehicle! No one was hurt, thankfully, but there were some funny comments about “one menu-board to go, please, hold the pickles!”

I pride myself on not being helpless. However, I have been married to such an amazing man for so long that there are just certain things that I have not had to do in YEARS. One of my tires looked low and we decided we should check it out. We are in the middle of nowhere, really, but we found a service station that had free air and a tire pressure gauge. It was hot as hades and it was me (yeah, I am pulling the preggo card) and my mom (I won’t give away her age, but some might use the E word (I don’t think of her as elderly, but when I see that word used to describe others her age, I don’t question it))! Anyway, we are out fumbling around with this whole tire business (it was not graceful and there was fumbling around) and these two jack-asses (yeah, seriously) were sitting RIGHT next to my van, in their pickup truck watching us the ENTIRE time. Apparently chivalry is dead in Montana, because there isn’t a man related to me that would have sat by and watched – ACTIVELY WATCHED – that circus. OOOH I was hot, and not because of the outside temp! Anyway, we got the tire aired up and made it home just fine.
FWIW, today would have been my Papa’s 95th birthday! Miss my Nana and Papa, glad they are together again!
