I *might* have enjoyed a little extra time at the hotel by myself today. I had to have mom at the airport at 0500 and really, it was still dark and probably not the safest, so I took my happy self right on back to the hotel (with an iced coffee in the fridge, and warm shower and cable TV) and waited an appropriate amount of time to be SURE that it was safe to head back over the pass to Dubois. Safety first, right?
Once I set out, I was so excited to see a giant MOOSE right in the middle of a field. I pulled over and watched him cross the road before continuing on! When I told my sister-in-law (who has some challenges in the art of wildlife spotting) she just said, “Of course you did.”
Met back up with the family. Had some lunch and then loaded up a big load of laundry and made Trista come with me to the laundromat to wash and fold it all. We played Uno while we waited and went over to the gas station for some snacks. I think it was the hottest day that I have ever encountered in Dubois. GOODNESS!
Later, back at the house, my mother-in-law told me that they had been playing with some blocks and a box and that the box lid wouldn’t stay open. She was very impressed by an observation that Levi had made about using a block to hold the lid open. As she struggled to recall what he said, “Was it counter balance… no…” Levi chimed right in and said, “I said, STABLIZER!!” My future engineer is 4.
