Trista is off looking for bears with Grandpa in CA, we are heading out to meet up and reclaim our sweet boy and then head west to visit Grandma and meet back up with Trista.
Lunch time rolled around and we could have made a sandwich, but really didn’t want to. Eating out while gluten free is a challenge to say the least. Fortunately, I had enough signal to do some google searching… When I googled ‘gluten free Rawlins’ one of the first things that came up was a thai restaurant whose billboard we have driven by NUMEROUS times and NUMEROUS times we have commented about who would actually try ethnic cuisine in the middle of nowhere. Did I mention we REALLY didn’t want sandwiches? The reviews were good, so I looked over the menu and we called and placed an order. I have to say, there isn’t much going on in Rawlins, WY. Anong’s Thai cuisine is in the middle or ‘downtown’ area of a nearly dead town. We parked and I went to grab our order. There weren’t really cars parked around the building, but when I opened the door, the place was PACKED. Standing room only, 15-20 minute wait. I have no idea where these people came from. With this location, they certainly aren’t catching the traffic off of I-80. Let me just say this about that, Anong’s in Rawlins, WY has the BEST Thai food ever. I ordered Pad Thai with shrimp and John ordered a curry. It was amazing and we will definitely been back!
After lunch, we stopped to get gas and found this little gem:

This car is two front ends, two steering wheels, two sets of pedals… I think if you want to reverse, you have to get out and drive forward from the other side!
Meeting up with Maw Maw and Paw Paw and Levi, we were excited to learn that Levi had had a wonderful week and was our little celebrity having made the front page of the local paper! The paper took a picture of him as he was learning how to make rope and brought home with him the rope that he made!
