Mask-a-lope

Not a whole lot of blog fodder today. We did a bunch of stuff around the house.

We ran out to go to the Opp Shop, and found some great treasures! Hit the bank (LOL) fun fact, here you can enter the bank with both a mask and a gun! Never in my life…

We had to stop and take our annual photo with the jack-a-lope, this year’s picture is a bit different than those of past years. Worth noting, the Elk and the Jack-a-lope are wearing masks. The bighorn sheep has a bandana around his neck, which could be used if necessary and the great big black bear and the moose are unmasked.

After lunch we took a nice nap.

After dinner, Grandpa said he would buy ice cream if grandma would drive, so we loaded up and headed into town, got some ice cream sandwiches and headed to the park. As we sat down, each of us commented on what a perfectly beautiful evening it was, the sun was out, not too hot, nice and cool in the shade… when all of a sudden, out of NOWHERE, it began to pour down rain, big, fat, cold rain drops! The adults headed to shelter, the kids headed to the tennis courts to dance in the rain!

As it typical of rain in this part of the country, it didn’t last long. We walked over to the Veteran’s wall, which Buddy is on, but had never seen, and checked it out.

When it was time to go, we were met with a bit of resistance from the kids. I knew exactly which one wanted to cave and which one wanted to stand firm, but they both remained at the top of the skateboard ramp singing (at the top of their lungs) “We will stand. our. ground. We’re not gonna leave. this. town.” over and over again. We loaded up and started to pull away and they just stood there and waved to us!
