Walmart. ‘nuff said.
Today we went to Sheridan to hit Walmart and stock up on the groceries to carry us through our Dakota Adventure. Let me just say this about that… When I was in 3rd grade, we had to make an acrostic poem with our name. I remember mine started with, “Tonya is my name, Olympics are my game…” and I don’t remember the rest. I remember the teacher asked what sport was going to get me into the Olympics and I didn’t really have an answer. Let me tell you this, if packing an RV fridge and freezer with 12 days worth of food were an Olympic event, there would be no competition. (IOC, if you ever consider this, please just send the gold straight to me!)
Planning, shopping, and stocking take a good portion of the day, but we came to Buffalo specifically to enjoy the World’s Largest Free Pool! So we suited up and headed out. They have hand sanitizer on a table when you walk in, if you want and signs around the perimeter reminding you to stay 6’ apart, which wasn’t really an issue since 1) this pool is HUGE and 2) there weren’t a ton of people there.
From the pool, we could see a playground. After we swam for a while, the kids wanted to go play on the playground, so we did.
There is another playground that we really like in Buffalo, so after a while we headed over to that park. This park has a rotating tire swing that has four tire swings that rotate… Three years ago we were here and Levi got off of one and got bonked by the next one coming around. He did MUCH better this year!
After a while at that park we crossed a bridge over a creek (because it is cool) and the next thing we knew we were in the creek, because we already had our swimsuits on and creeks are fun.
Then, what do you know we found on the other side of that bridge? Another playground, so we had to check that one out, too!

Good thing we had some leftovers for a quick dinner before bed after all of our playtime!
This slide. This slide right here… My kids started off playing Rapunzel and Levi was Flynn Ryder. Next thing I knew, Trista was singing the song from Frozen and Levi was laying facedown in the sand. I asked him if he was ok and he lifted his chin enough to say, “I’m Olaf, but Elsa hasn’t created me yet!” Which prompted Trista to sing the song twice as fast so that she could “create” Olaf and run up the ladder to the top of the slide like Elsa runs up to her ice castle in the movie! Who would have thought that a single slide could spark so much creativity!

Buffalo, WY has the BEST PARKS! We are hoping for another park tour, another year!
I am still battling the Minecraft battle. I have no problem with Minecraft, but there are other things in life. My goal is to lessen the focus. Levi’s is to play as much Minecraft as possible. As a result, he will frequently ask, “When are we going home?” Trista gave him a hard time about it once and I *might* have said, “August!” By the end of the day, he had figured out to ask, “When are we going to our moving home?” Smart kid.
